Whether you are relatively new to maternity & newborn photography or an experienced photographer looking to enhance your skills, workshops can be a valuable investment for your photography business.

Participating in a workshop is an excellent way to gain the knowledge and ‘know how’ from an experienced professional in the industry and in turn, will help you enrich your skill set on the path to running your own successful photography business.

FULL DAY NEWBORN WORKSHOP - (9.30am - 5.00pm)

The day commences at 9am once you arrive at the Studio, where we will sit down for a meet and greet and an overview of the day ahead.

I will introduce you to the lighting system I use for all of my sessions and we will spend some time covering camera settings, a detailed overview of the specific lighting equipment and how to use it, white balance settings, studio setup and session preparation.

Our first newborn model is scheduled to arrive at the studio around 9:30am and this is when the fun begins!

You will observe me in my typical workflow during a newborn session where we will cover positioning and lighting baby on the flokati, posing beanbag as well as in various different prop set-ups where there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions along the way.

We will also be covering wrapping techniques, soothing and calming baby, safe positioning and posing of baby, styling your setups, preparing your clients for their session and much more.

You will also have the opportunity to take your own shots of each set-up where I will coach you in camera settings, angles, exposure and getting multiple images from one set-up for your client gallery.

We will then take a break for a light lunch and refreshments, all of which are provided.

After lunch we will be photographing our second newborn model where we will cover additional poses and set-ups that weren't covered in our morning session.

We will then break for some afternoon tea and during this time I will download the files taken during the day. I will then run through my typical editing process in ACR (camera raw) and Photoshop on a number of different images from our session.

The day concludes around 5pm after some question and answer time but your support from me does not necessarily end there. I offer continued support and am available to answer any questions you may have or if you just need me to refresh you on anything that we have covered during the day, I am willing to help. You will be added to my private Facebook group for ongoing support and tuition.

By paying your deposit you agree to a 12 month non-compete/teaching clause - photographers must agree to not teach content from the Workshop to others for a period of 12 months from the workshop date.

To get the most out of this workshop - you will need a basic knowledge of Photoshop, you must own and understand DSLR camera usage and be comfortable shooting in Manual Mode; plus have a basic knowledge of aperture, shutter speed and ISO settings. I use both 35mm and 24-70mm lenses.

The investment for a workshop place once the EARLY BIRD PRICING ENDS is $1,395.

This 1/2 day 'fly on the wall' maternity workshop is aimed at photographers who are wanting to perfect their maternity posing and enhance their lighting skills using studio lighting.

The 1/2 day workshop will commence at 10am where we will have an introduction to studio lighting equipment and camera settings.

We will have a maternity model present and Leanne will be demonstrating posing your client to achieve beautiful timeless images, as well as lighting techniques for backlit lighting as well as moody directional lighting to achieve different looks within your client gallery. We will also be covering session styling and couple posing.

We will break for lunch and light refreshments (included in your workshop fee) and then spend the remaining time retouching images in ACR and Photoshop teaching my editing workflow and use of textures to enhance your images.

Please note : Deposits are not refundable. Deposits can be transferred to another workshop if you become unable to attend the scheduled date, alternatively, if you find yourself unable to attend, you can sell your place to another photographer.

Please note that I only accept photographers living outside of a 100km exclusion zone from my studio address in Sale, Gippsland, Victoria.

All attendees must agree to a 'non compete / teaching' clause for a period of 12 months from the date of their learning with Leanne Curtis Photography.

Please note : If numbers do not reach the minimum required for the workshop to run, Leanne Curtis Photography has the right to cancel the Workshop and will refund any deposits paid.

In the instance of unforeseen circumstances or illness where Leanne Curtis is no longer able to run the Workshop - the workshop may be postponed to another date where possible, otherwise all funds paid will be refunded in full

Testimonials from previous attendees –

“……I've been following your work for close to two years now and to finally get the opportunity to not only meet you, but learn from you as well was a dream come true.

I'm confident that what I learnt from you will help me speed up my workflow and greatly improve my images which is exactly what I need.

I can't wait for my next newborn client to be born so I can put everything into practise and take my images to the next level.

Thanks again it was a wonderful experience!.......”

Emilie Thompson from Sevasti Images

“……I found the session to be both informative and inspiring with no questions left unanswered. The reasons for every hand movement, pose and camera angle were all explained with great detail, making everything learnt very easy to put into practice in my own studio.

There is also always ongoing support from Leanne when needed.

I’m most grateful for Leanne taking the time to spend with showing me how to create beautiful memories to last a lifetime. …….”

Mel de Visser from Mel de Visser Photography
